I incorporate design, content, and community to share impactful stories. Bottom line: I love what I do. As a marketing/communications professional with proven results, my skills transcend corporate and nonprofit communications, graphic/web design, and analytical expertise.Currently, I am a Marketing Manager at VolunteerMatch, where I help nonprofits and volunteers engage better with one another by posting powerful tips and sharing stories on VolunteerMatch.org, Engaging Volunteers blog, GoodCauses/GoodPeople newsletters, and VolunteerMatch's social media platforms.I joined VolunteerMatch after spending two years as a Communications Specialist at Esurance, where I wrote company-wide news and announcements to nearly 3,500 employees across 17 offices and Canada. In this unique, multi-disciplinary role, I served as a writer, editor, designer, project manager, and researcher. By partnering with various departments, I found stories to share about the brand, products, and industry. I flexed our helpful voice on the Esurance Blog and drafted shareable bits for our social media channels. I also designed and built web pages. :)Prior to moving to San Francisco, I kick-started my career in communications at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Beirut, Lebanon — a non-profit think tank with a mission to understand the Middle East’s most pressing issues. During my time, I learned to effectively collaborate with journalists and coordinate high profile events, like Syrian Refugees in Lebanon: Impact and Recommendations with the United Nations Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). I successfully mapped Egypt’s interim government and contributed to a project which outlined different laws governing online speech in the Middle East and North Africa. Before affirming my passion for communications, I worked as a Project Coordinator for a private government contractor in the Middle East, where I assisted in managing two large-scale construction projects on U.S. naval bases in Bahrain. Prior to that, I performed qualitative and quantitative research for a non-governmental organization that advised the Prime Minister of Jordan on social and economic policies in the Kingdom.
A George Mason University graduate, I received my Bachelors of Arts in Global Affairs with a minor in global economy and management. In my free time, you can find me hiking the Bay Area’s parks and peaks, visiting museums, binge-watching Netflix, and giving back to my community.Get in touch with me today — say hello!
